Does DMOZ have a place in search? »

I just read the blog post respect for DMOZ at the DMOZ blog. The anonomus editor glippitt compares DMOZ to Google and Wikipedia. This editor compares DMOZ to Google and Wikipedia and provides an argument for why DMOZ is a better resource for information about Somalia. Glippitt final claim is that DMOZ is useful for [...]

New DMOZ Resource zone »

I have been requested to warn about an allegedly fake DMOZ resource zone. However I will not do so, actually I think that webmasters would be better served with more forums and blogs discussing DMOZ issues.

DMOZ clean up! »

After I picked one random DMOZ category, and blogged about three sites that shouldn’t be listed, it appears like some editor in charge has removed 10 of the original 26 sites listed.
These sites are gone:

Baby Zone: Preconception
Bankhead Fertility House
Beloved Pages
Fertility Rhythms
Getting Pregnant

Pregnant Aid

Rubella and Pregnancy

Wish 2 Conceive

Dear DMOZ editors. »

I have been getting various feedback on these two blogposts:

Still Waiting for DMOZ? »

Unless BOTW makes a partership with Google or one of the other major players in the search field I would expect [...]

Transforming The Open Directory into a Trusted Data Source, part 1 »

The largest problem with the ODP is the many editors and the editor community itself. [...]

Here is the welcome message when editors log in:
(the links are to some private forum, but I left them in just in case you are a editor with access to the private forum)

Dear Editor,On October 20th, the DMOZ editor server experienced a serious failure. The technical issues have been resolved and the site is back [...]

DMOZ server park »

Back in 2002 Richard Fuller a key member of the DMOZ  technical staff released some photos  of their data center.

DMOZ over budget? »

Today I have heard two very different and conflicting rumors:

DMOZ is over budget, and key-personel has been asked to take out their vacation. Even though they could open the editor dashboards right new, they will not do so before mid-Janauary.
The editor dashboards will be available in the beginning of next week. The delay is due [...]
